I saw the last sunset through an alien eye I felt no anger I felt no fear just chemical sadness the childlike empress watching her wishes disappear in earl grey twilight I watch the tide when silently sun and moon collide the childlike empress who lives in my soul searches in mirrors longing for home the empress is now an empress of nothing wandering the void eternally alien eyes, alien skies, purple and silent shifting hues of twilight interspersed with blackness she feels a little sick the nothing gets to her the sleeplessness, timelessness, wanting to curl up, dig to the bottom, finding there is no bottom only swirling void nothing she remembers is here on an alien beach she saw the sun and moon collide and everything that she knew was no more everything has been destroyed the empress is now an empress of nothing wandering the void eternally

Starlight 03:24
is it colder where you are are you frozen in place a marble being but not the marble we know not the hard part, no the in-betweenness oh starlight, you’ve got nothing to hide won’t you come into my mind lonely the final frontier of reality the dream we share held by a single tether we nail it to the ground our falcon minds are bound a thousand taloned claw draws magma from the core of in-betweenness oh starlight, you’ve got nothing to hide won’t you come into my mind oh starlight, you’ve got nothing to hide won’t you come into my mind oh starlight, you’ve got nothing to hide won’t you come into my mind

Make it Real 04:59
let me try it this way tonight step out and lock the door while amber streetlights look on headlights awake in the dark night a small car pulls away into the grey I’m tired of the distance I wanna make it real I wanna come home I wanna make it real with you mystery no more by the time the sun rises I’ll be somewhere in Michigan dogs bark in backyards while coffee trickles in the pot pink sky I’ll be flying by on the interstate following signs the sun I’m gonna make it real I’m gonna come home I’m gonna make it real with you mystery no more mystery no more mystery I pity the sky for it has chosen to marry the wind a metaphor circling in what was supposed to be a body at birth but what is now caught in a dream the smile within the glow is real the love I’m feeling like never before for which I’ve longed is just a drive, an overnight into the arms, no fight or flight let me try it this way tonight
4.
every little sound I am listening the fire hisses tiny explosions are big to someone crawling up my leg twisting like a vine shadow of a shadow who else could it be who would come to me this way and who else would it be is it my time? or are you just reminding me how deep the dark is in between the stars and how long you must sit to befriend the dog that bites befriend him all your life the grouse did not dance did not beat or wild just stared shadow of a shadow who else could it be who would come to me this way and who else would it be is it my time? or are you just reminding me how deep the dark is in between the stars and how long you must sit to befriend the dog that bites befriend him all your life befriend him all your life

We Are Blood 04:34
I’ve never met you but I love you I’ve only known you from afar and you’ve only seen me on your TV screen but we are blood thicker than the time that’s ticking heavier than the rock in the garden but lighter than a hummingbird in flight can you feel the air rise can I be the sun on your skin can I be your song on the wind can I be your friend thicker than the time that’s ticking heavier than the rock in the garden but lighter than a hummingbird in flight can you feel the air rise circling high, thermals rise, I can feel you circling high, thermals rise, I can feel you ‘cause we are blood thicker than the time that’s ticking can you feel the rock, it’s rolling lighter than a hummingbird in flight can you feel the air rise
6.
A.W.I.L 03:49
come on this is how we work together can you feel my heart beating can you feel my joy can I open up now we fear so much I’m always in love come on this is not a struggle this is the day you were born and the day you’ll die it’s where we live it’s when we live we fear so much can we always be in love here you are here we are silent and staring who will give and who will break who will give can we let something live can we let it live can we let it live ooh, can we let it live I’m always in love

keep your head, keep your head, keep your head up off the floor I know you can’t unsee it but here it comes, here it comes, here it comes the earth is turning on its axis outer space is a place outside you but what if there’s room inside too, for heat potential heat potential heat potential to try something new how did you sleep would you believe that I saw you dreaming your legs were twitching were you racing horses or could you jump high enough to touch the ceiling yeah were you floating and when you woke up to find walls were you obsessed with cracks of light and where others saw sheets of ice did you see individual molecules just waiting for your heat potential heat potential heat potential to try something new
8.
spawned by the sun expelled by a sunbeam incredible force incredible heat landed on the planet formed, unfurling here among everything all you could ever need it’s all around you it’s all around you I didn’t know I was hungry I didn’t know til I saw it all laid out in front of me where I come from you don’t talk about things like these you don’t talk about things like these you don’t talk about talk about any anything it’s all around you when you reach out to touch it it’ll be there it’s all around you but you’ll never see it until you do reach on through it’s all around you it’s all around you I didn’t know I was hungry I didn’t know til I saw it all laid out in front of me where I come from you don’t talk about things like these you don’t talk about things like these you don’t talk about things like these you don’t talk about things like these you don’t talk about talk about any anything it’s all around you when you reach out to touch it it’ll be there

The Thing Is 03:22
stick me here stuck in stop time let me try this over and over til I get it over and over til I’ve mastered it and then let time flow again when I can ride on top of it on top of the world on top of the flow the thing is, I started from below and I had no one to tell me how and I always needed love well I guess i’m learning now that I have always been alone the love I needed was my own and the thing is, as I become one with light I become invisible the dark distracting mess of mind dissipates and leaves behind I’m unrecognizable the story I was telling you it fades before the end and the thing is the thing is the thing is the thing is the thing is the thing is the thing is what you’ve gotta know is I’m unrecognizable I’m unrecognizable what I want you to know is that I started from below what’s that you want me to know it’s that you started from below too

Intangible Holds photo developer let me live the only ones you show me are negative I feel I’m spending too much time in the dark I’m trying hard not to give in this feeling that the ship is sinking and I guess I’ve been struggling with all the intangible holds that embrace us I did it again I spoke too soon my words grow wings fly around the room and you shoot them down with eyes like .22s as I wait for time to undo I’m trying hard not to give in this feeling that the ship is sinking and I guess I’ve been struggling with all the intangible holds that embrace us the pupil’s growing place in the iris and how I dream of swimming in the black hole of the eye sink deep, fall asleep, let it die, calm the river sink deep, fall asleep, let it die, calm the river sink deep, fall asleep, let it die you’re so clever pretentious so carefully cynical looking backwards around every corner pretending to have forgotten something it’s getting old but you still judge me so harshly every time I misspeak you make me sit in my awkward silence what does it even matter what do you think is going to happen you have such a hold on me, I’m going to break one day I’m going to break and do whatever it takes to escape you and your judgement your rules you can’t reach me in a cocoon of darkness you can’t judge me for failing if I never try you can’t judge my words when I no longer speak to anyone and you can’t judge my movements if I no longer move and the only one who will see my face is the wall as I fade into darkness I’ll start to see figures shapes of those people that I knew my grandparents my best friend from grade six our fans my dad will be dancing in his own sheepish way my sister, with her little son, her little daughter my mother, with so much love in her eyes my old neighbour who loves smoking weed and making movies none of them can see me none know I’m there but I can feel their love and they are dancing for me, for all of us fading in and out of my consciousness in the void fading signals to the old TV a flickering hologram of everyone I’ve ever loved
